Filming has officially started on The Resident season 3. The cast has been seen donning their scrubs as they begin work on the upcoming installment.
Actor Manish Dayal (as Devon Pravesh) posted a photo on Instagram from the set of The Resident season 3, where he's wearing his familiar green hospital costume. Beside him are co-stars Matt Czurchry (as Conrad Hawkins) and Emily VanCamp (as Nicolette Nevin), who are also wearing their characters' usual uniforms.
It's no surprise that the cast and crew are back to work in the middle of summer. FOX confirmed that The Resident season 3 will begin airing its new season on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 8:00 p.m. thus they have to finish filming and to edit the first few episodes in time for this premiere.
The show, however, is moving from its original Monday schedule to settle on Tuesday nights where it will be up against NCIS. According to Hidden Remote, this new time slot for The Resident season 3 might be a cause for worry as the shows against it are tough rating competitors. Will this be a good decision for the series?
Meanwhile, there's a reason fans can get more excited for The Resident season 3 as the show recently announced it is adding a new cast member in its line-up. Per TV Guide, Morris Chestnut has signed on to play Dr. Barrett Cain, who is described as an "intimidating neurosurgeon."
Also regarded as the "superman physician," this character is power-hungry, but he gets the job done. Having him on The Resident season 3 will bring a thrilling arc to the new season's storyline.
"Red Rock Mountain Medical has taken control of the hospital. The doctors are faced with their hardest fight yet against the corrupting influence of money in health care," the logline for The Resident season 3 reveals. "As each new case enters the hospital, this justice league of courageous young physicians will put their futures and careers on the line to stop 'profit over patients.'"
Meanwhile, fans are conflicted over the cliffhanger of The Resident season 2 finale. Nic has yet to decide whether she's saving her sister or her father, who are both going under the knife.
Keeping her father alive might bring better story developments and conflict or The Resident season 3. However, viewers might want a happy resolution for Nic than a troubled storyline.
Fans have two more months to find out what will happen this season though. The Resident season 3 will premiere on Sept. 24 on FOX.
