Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, United Arab Emirates Minister of Economy, at the UAE-China Economic Forum held in Beijing, stressed that China is a crucial partner for the UAE at all levels zeroing in on its Belt and Road Initiative as a win-win because both countries will improve economies, infrastructure, and lives.

With more than 500 attendees from China and UAE's political and business sectors, Mansoori voiced out his vision of the initiative being "an excellent gift to the world that China is providing."

"We continue to look for more opportunities and new projects that serve the interests of both countries, in line with this initiative," Mansoori said.

Addressing the forum, Mansoori said his country "encourage the joint manufacturing of certain products in the UAE with Chinese companies," citing it's "not only for the UAE market but also for the regional market."

The UAE knows it needs to connect to the world in the best way and considers the Belt and Road Initiative, with its road networks, airports, ports, railway networks, air cargo, etc. as benefiting not only them but all countries.

Mansoori, with regards to the UAE's confidence in this bilateral trade, points out, "We are not worried," and that their "world is open. You have to accept challenges and competitions, or you cannot survive."

Chinese President Xi Jinping, earlier in the day, during talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi in Beijing, called for joint efforts to accelerate the high-quality building of the Belt Road in investment, financing and production capacity.

The two leaders signed landmark programs for bilateral cooperation which includes artificial intelligence, the peaceful use of nuclear energy and environmental protection.
