Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in 2018, and after the former actress joined the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly made an "unusual effort" to make the Duchess of Sussex feel accepted.

Queen Elizabeth's unusual effort to build a special relationship with Markle reportedly comes after the monarch had a strained relationship with her late daughter-in-law, Princess Diana. After she married Prince Charles, reports claimed the Princess of Wales was forced to learn what's expected from her - rather than getting guidance from a mentor.

In a chat with Fabulous Digital, Duncan Larcombe claims Princess Diana felt isolated and her death influenced the decision of Her Majesty to build a special relationship with the Duchess of Sussex. The royal commentator also said Markle seemed to have a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth compared to other people who have married other royal family members.

Larcombe claimed the monarch also made an "unusual" effort last year to welcome the Duchess of Sussex after she joined the royal family. This unusual effort was reported during a trip on the royal train, and the royal expert believed Her Majesty never offered that to Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton.

Also, Larcombe said Queen Elizabeth likely planned to be photographed with Markle to tell everyone that she welcomed the former actress into the royal family. And because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's whirlwind romance, Larcombe suspected the monarch is feeling obliged she needs to ease the transition of the couple.

He also said Markle would likely burst onto the scene in a way that Middleton didn't, especially since everyone knew the latter before she got engaged to Prince William. Larcombe added that it's also possible Queen Elizabeth learned the lessons from the past, particularly when Princess Diana felt like she's an outsider in the royal family. Her Majesty is probably protecting Markle to go through a similar experience like the Princess of Wales.

In another related report, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are backing Markle all the way despite a recent backlash. Reports said the Duchess of Sussex had been recently criticized due to her work, but the monarch and her son gave their full support to the former actress.

Markle has been questioned over several things, including recent strategy on Instagram and the secrecy surrounding their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor christening. But, royal expert Marie Koenig said the Duchess of Sussex wouldn't do any of these things without the approval of Queen Elizabeth.
