People already have certain expectations about Star Wars Episode 9 considering that it is set to be the final film in the Skywalker Saga. While others believe that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will conclude with Kylo Ren's emotional redemption arc, some also think that it will finally explain the truth about Rey. The mysterious girl from Jakku has been the subject of several fan theories, from the possibility that she is related to one of the original trilogy characters to the surprising way she may have been born. So what are the chances that Rey is connected to a new character that will be introduced in The Rise of Skywalker?

Although Kylo Ren and Rey somehow revealed the truth about Rey's heritage in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, most fans are still not convinced that the girl is a mere nobody who just happens to be truly strong in the Force. It is believed that Kylo Ren may have misread Rey's past or she had intentionally blocked him from reading the truth about herself. This is somehow proven by how Kylo stated that Rey's parents are dead in the pauper's grave in Jakku although her Force vision revealed her parents might have left the planet by a spaceship in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Interestingly, it looks like the ship will be back in Star Wars Episode 9.

In the first trailer for The Rise of Skywalker, the same ship or one similar to it is seen hovering over a new planet known as Kijimi. Previous reports confirmed that the planet is home to the Thieves Quarter where the new character Zorri Bliss resides. With that in mind, people believe that it is Zorri, who is played by Keri Russell, who is piloting the ship in the Episode 9 trailer. Not surprisingly, a new theory suggests that the ship could confirm that the mysterious new character is somehow connected to Rey.

It is suggested that Zorri Bliss may have been piloting the ship that left Rey in Jakku in the first place. This could mean that Rey was originally born and raised on Kijimi before her parents sold her to Zorri. Although the details around this theory might still be hazy, it is possible that Zorri then brought the young girl to Jakku so that she could work for Unkar Plutt.

The Star Wars Episode 9 theory conveniently avoids suggesting that Zorri Bliss herself is Rey's mother while still pointing out her possible connection to the Force-sensitive girl. Although it is a plausible idea, there has been no confirmation about the details. With that in mind, it is best to take the information with a grain of salt.

Did Zorri Bliss bring Rey to Jakku? What was her purpose? Hopefully, we'll find out when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
