The Boys Season 2 is coming, and fans should expect to see more characters are going to appear. Showrunner Erick Kripke earlier teased what will happen to the series and the introduction of new superheroes.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke revealed Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) dog, Terror, would be seen in the new season. He said as a writer; he felt the need for fans to see this character.
"We had to bite the bullet and have one f-ing pain-in-the-ass episode to shoot with the dog," Kripke explained. "And then at the end, the dog will return to the safe and comfortable place it's been."
In The Boys Season 2, the dog will come out of retirement for one more mission with Butcher. Hence, fans are about to see Butcher with Terror for one big episode, per ComicBook.
Jack from Jupiter may also be seen in the upcoming installment, although it may be different from how fans think. He may make a cameo in the Jack from Jupiter porno in the second season. However, it remains to be seen if it will come together.
Also, The Boys Season 2 will introduce the hero Stormfront, which will be a "gender-swapped" version of the character from the comics. This character is said to be a combination of Thor and Shazam, but Kripke remains mum about it.
Meanwhile, in the previous season's final episode, the famed Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito made a brief appearance as Stan Edgar. But as the big bad Madelyn Stillwell is now dead, Vought International's head honcho might return to play a big role in The Boys Season 2.
According to IGN, Kripke revealed Stan would be an important character in the next season. He even said he had to call Esposito to do about four or five episodes in the new installment. Fortunately, the Better Call Saul star is available and enthusiastic about it.
Kripke also talked about his hopes to expand the Vought Cinematic Universe. There are also hopes executive producer Seth Rogen would play the role of someone like Agent Coulson in their spoof superhero world.
While they are filming a movie with a show called Dawn of the Seven in The Boys Season 2, they are talking about how great if Rogen would be one of the main characters of that film. He might be the Agent Coulson of the group. If the 37-year-old actor's schedule is clear, Kripke promised they would do that.
