Stranger Things Season 4 made a lot of jaw-dropping surprises, from the death of some major characters to an unexpected twist. However, fans some seemed to be confused with the attitude Max (Sadie Sink) displayed after the death of his step-brother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery).

It might be too late for Billy to redeem himself in the previous season in front of the Mind Flayer. After he regained his humanity, he saved Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) from that enormous monster, ending on sacrificing himself.

Max seemed to be traumatized seeing her step-brother died in the most primitive way. But after a time jump, Max seemed to be okay, happy, and could sing with Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) will all her heart. Would she be fine on Stranger Things Season 4?

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Sink revealed she, too, was confused with Max's storyline in Season 3. "I remember reading that scene, and I was like, 'What's going on? Wait. Did she not...Did her brother not just die?'" she said.

However, the 17-year-old star confirmed Stranger Things Season 4 may feature the grief to catch up with Max as she moves on to a life without Billy. Although it may be understandable that she will be okay because they have a "messed up" relationship, his death still affects the "dynamic within their family."

But based on Max's attitude, she would not let anyone see her real emotion. She might pretend to be happy, but everything has already changed for her after Billy's death. "She's in a completely different emotional headspace," Sink explained.

They indeed had an unconventional sibling relationship since they were introduced in Season 2 because of Billy's bully attitude. However, people began to sympathize with him after saving Eleven that causing his death in the previous season finale.

Meanwhile, after Hopper's (David Harbour) alleged death and that major cliffhanger that left fans hoping he is still alive; everyone is now waiting for Stranger Things Season 4's release date. By the looks of it, the Duffer Brothers love to follow the public holidays to release every new season, per TechRadar.

Season 2 was out on Halloween, while Season 3 was dropped on the 4th of July. So, would the new season also be out on holiday?

There is a big possibility Stranger Things Season 4 would be out on Christmas if its release schedule will be followed. But as there is a usual one to two years wait, it is more likely to be out in the late 2020 or early 2021.
