After four years of no VMAs performance, Taylor Swift is back. And not only that she is to attend the event, but she is announced to perform on that day.

It is not surprising that Taylor will perform for this year's MTV VMAs. And in considering all of her recent publicity acts and performances, it did not become a huge surprise for the fans when MTV announced the matter.

The awards night will broadcast live on August 26, from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. And this will be Taylor Swift's first live television broadcast after the arrival of Lover, as the album is set to be released on August 23.

Taylor's attendance on the 2019 MTV VMAs is crucial as well. This is because she bagged over ten nominations, which is the highest number of nominations for the upcoming event. She is tied with Ariana Grande for the spot. And both artists are contenders for this year's Video of the Year award and Song of the Year award for You Need To Calm Down and Thank You, Next.

Next to Bad Blood in 2015, You Need To Calm Down is second-most nominated video as per Billboard. Not to mention, Taylor Swift holds a total of seven VMA titles since 2008. And certainly, the number is about to increase after the upcoming event.

According to Variety, Taylor has become a real "VMAs headline grabber" since 2009 although they are not usually because of her acts and titles, the ME! singer has been very popular within the VMA community.

In 2009, Kanye West interrupted her speech for accepting the Best Female Video award for You Belong With Me. And quite obviously, this has become the spark of their ongoing feuds and disputes that largely take the front-page every single time.

She also had a quick Twitter feud with Nicki Minaj in 2015. Taylor Swift has ignited the feud between them after "responding" to the rapper's criticisms about Anaconda being not nominated during the VMAs that year.

And today, many reports believe that there has not been a shortage of drama in Taylor's current career movements. As it appears, this is a huge nod to her most recent public feud with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta.

While the disputes between them do not largely play a role in the upcoming VMAs, a lot of headlines speculate that it will make an impact. Even so, fans of Taylor has remained positive and continued to celebrate the success of the artist.
