It looks like the Bride's return isn't happening anytime soon. Quentin Tarantino might not be working on Kill Bill: Volume 3 as soon as fans have been hoping for. Unfortunately, the sequel could be delayed in favor of a completely different project. But will Tarantino finally work on the third Uma Thurman film as soon as he is done with his planned Star Trek movie?

People have been looking forward to Kill Bill: Volume 3 ever since Quentin Tarantino revealed that the Bride's story is not over just yet. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood director had previously stated that the third film would follow Vernita Green's now-grown daughter Nikki seeking revenge against Beatrix Kiddo for killing her mother. Not surprisingly, fans loved the idea of seeing the Bride's final fight against someone with a similar grudge against her. However, people are now concerned that Tarantino is pushing the project back for a different movie.

Quentin Tarantino had already confirmed with Deadline that he has the script for his planned Star Trek film, which he says will be "Pulp Fiction in space." The Reservoir Dogs director stated that he has every intention to make it an R-rated feature and seemed very passionate about the idea. But what could this mean for the third Kill Bill movie? Is there a chance that the Bride's story will be explored before Tarantino pursues the sci-fi project?

Interestingly, Quentin Tarantino admitted that he is already discussing Kill Bill: Volume 3 with Uma Thurman. The filmmaker stated that he pitched the idea to the star of The House That Jack Built, who seemed to be interested in doing the sequel.

"Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth," he said. "I have thought about it a little further, we were talking about it literally last week. If any of my movies were going to spring from my other movies, it would be a third Kill Bill."

The update is certainly comforting for fans who are still looking forward to seeing Uma Thurman in action all over again. However, it is important to point out that Quentin Tarantino did not reveal whether the third movie is now in development or when it would begin production. Hopefully, the Inglourious Basterds director will begin working on the sequel as soon as possible.

Quentin Tarantino's most recent project is the comedy-drama Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. It is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
