Prince William and Kate Middleton are a power couple. They work amazing together as parents and future ruler of England. Also, they are strong individuals who can carry their weight.
A lot of people look up to Prince William and Kate Middleton as they mesh the worlds of Royalties and commoners. Although almost every girl wished to marry a prince when they were young, it’s most likely not going to happen. However, Kate’s journey to the Buckingham Palace is a strong reminder that everything is possible, making their love story an interesting topic.
Biographer Andrew Morton wrote a book back in 2011 with the title, “William and Catherine.” The book was about the pair’s university days when they first met and fell in love.
A lot of people are familiar with the love story of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They became friends during their days at St. Andrews and started dating two years after they struck a friendship. Of course, just like most relationships, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s is not perfect as well.
“Obstinate and strong-willed, William could be an overwhelming presence and, at times, Kate felt taken for granted – treated like a servant rather than his girlfriend,” Morton wrote.
Michael Choong, a university friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton, told Morton that the future Duchess of Cambridge wasn’t too happy with her boyfriend’s “curt” behavior at the time. “She didn’t like it when he ignored her and got into a conversation with someone as though she wasn’t there. He expected Kate to run after him, and the longer they knew each other, the more he seemed to keep her on a tight leash.” Choong said.
Another friend of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed that their relationship was “edgy,” adding that “they were always in and out.” The young couple broke up in 2004 after they agreed to a “trial separation.” According to royal author Katie Nicholl, Prince William “wanted some space” at the time that led to their split.
That wasn’t their only break-up. After making up by Christmas that same year, Prince William and Kate Middleton broke up again briefly in 2007 when the former wasn't sure of their future together while completing his military training.
Prince William and Kate Middleton eventually got back together for good, got married, had three beautiful children -- six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte, and one-year-old Prince Louis -- and became two of the most popular members of the Royal family.
