The Royal family has some strict rules and codes of conduct to follow, and these have been religiously obliged for decades. However, the new generation of Royals is not so keen on following traditions.
Being the ruler of England, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip couldn’t spend time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren anytime they want. They are expected to comply with their regular obligations from state visits, ceremonial tasks, and a lot more.
However, Prince William and Kate Middleton are not going to allow themselves to be consistently absent from their children’s lives. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always noted that family time is very important to them.
This is something that the late Princess Diana had instilled in her firstborn’s mind and heart. The Princess of Wales was known for breaking Royal traditions for the sake of her children.
One of those rules that she broke was bringing Prince William, who was only nine months old at the time, along with her during her royal visit to Australia and New Zealand. This is a big no-no, but Princess Diana insisted.
Now that Prince William has a family of his own, he followed some tips of how his mom raised him and younger brother Prince Harry. However, he and Kate Middleton took things further by deciding to limit their travel time away from their three young kids, six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte, and one-year-old Prince Louis.
Just like what Princess Diana did before, Prince William and Kate Middleton allowed their children to go with them on their royal visits. In 2014, Prince George accompanied them in Australia, and Princess Charlotte tagged along to Canada in 2016.
But their three children will not be traveling with them during their royal trip to Pakistan. Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to visit the country later this year, but it is believed that they will not travel for more than a week. With their youngest child being one-year-old, it is probably hard for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to be away from him for a long time.
While Royal traditions are very important, people are not so critical when these rules are bent for the sake of the children. The public has consistently praised Prince William and Kate Middleton about their parenting. Many even saw Princess Diana in them, making the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge two of the most-liked members of the Royal family.
