With Maleficent: Mistress of Evil release date getting nearer and nearer, moviegoers have been talking about the fantasy and adventure flick starring the one and only Angelina Jolie. The first installment was released back in 2014, so it’s been a long time coming for both the actress and her fans.
Angelina Jolie will return as the anti-heroine Maleficent after five long years. Just like her supporters and fans of the dark fantasy film, the 44-year-old actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian also missed the Disney franchise. But there’s one particular thing that she missed most about playing the character.
“I had fun with her. I do love playing her, and I missed my horns. It’s almost weird — I don’t know if that’s good or bad that I slide very easily back and forth from me to her,” Angelina Jolie said.
According to the A-list actress, her character is going to be a whole new evil in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. She revealed that “now in this one, she has her wings in every scene,” Jolie elaborated. “So now she’s full wings, full horns, full crazy.”
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil release date is on October 16, 2019. The movie also stars Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harris Dickinson, Sam Riley, and more.
But Angelina Jolie is not done yet. The actress is going to have a big and busy year in 2020 with two new movies under her belt. The One and Only Ivan that will be released on Aug. 14, 2020, and the actress joins the MCU with Eternals with the release date on Nov. 6, 2020.
Angelina Jolie will play Thena in Marvel’s Eternals. She is a member of Heroes for Hire, and the supernatural Expy of the Greek Goddess, Athena.
“I am actually a big fan of the Marvel universe and everything [studio boss Kevin Feige has] done and what all the other artists have done, so when you get the call that you might be joining, you feel like you’ve been called up for service, it’s very exciting in fact,” Angelina Jolie said.
While playing a character with superpowers is nothing new to Angelina Jolie, she did admit that she’s still a little confused. “It’s still new for me, so I’m learning,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie was spotted holding hands with daughter Zahara for some quality time. The actress is going to be pretty busy during the promotions of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, so she’s probably spending as much time as can with her kids right now.
