Is Gold Rush season 10 returning on Discovery Channel? Has the show been renewed after its last airing in March?
There has been some good news for Gold Rush viewers as it looks like production has been quite busy since the spring. A job post on Raw in the U.K. stated that Little Flake Mining was looking for a Productivity Advisor to join Parker Schnabel's gold mine.
The post also indicated that the said person who'll get the job would be working for six months beginning March or April 2019. That person will also be featured as a regular in Gold Rush season 10.
Little Flake Mining is owned by Schnabel, which has been contracted by Discovery Channel. However, there has been no mention of Tony Beets, thus sparking speculations that Schnabel will fly solo next season as hinted at the end of Gold Rush season 9.
Meanwhile, a video post from Gold Rush News on YouTube alluded that Todd Hoffman seems to be back in Gold Rush season 10. Viewers will recall that Hoffman left the series at the end of season 8 to allegedly star in his own show Greenhorn Gold.
Greenhorn Gold has not yet gone on air despite planning for it for more than a year. The truth is between meetings with networks and working on his drug intervention programs to help other people, Hoffman hasn't had the chance to mine again.
Sometime in July, however, Hoffman said that some details are still being ironed out in this show deal he's working on. He also said this new show might not with the Discovery Channel, but it's going to feature the "next generation of mining." Gold Rush fans are speculating that Hoffman could be working out a streaming option deal or a show on YouTube.
Meanwhile, viewers expect a potential rivalry between Schnabel and his former foreman Rick Ness in Gold Rush season 10. The two have had some misunderstanding last season with Schnabel declaring that he could sense Ness doesn't like him.
But Schnabel will also have to deal with Beets, the guy who taught him most of what he knows about mining. Now that he's on his own, Schnabel will still have encounters with Beets as he works his way through these next rounds of competition in Gold Rush season 10.
Discovery Channel usually airs this show around October. Thus, viewers might get fresh teasers and previews a few weeks before Gold Rush returns.
