Starz has finally confirmed the release date for Outlander season 5. The network has unveiled that the upcoming installment will begin its run on Feb. 16, 2020. 

Although that date is still a six-month-long wait, fans are finally relieved to know the show's exact return. Eager viewers of the series may now finally begin counting down until the premiere.

The news comes just as Starz also released the first sizzle reel for Outlander season 5. The brief clip, however, also features a supercut of scenes from the network's current programs such as American Gods, PowerThe Spanish PrincessVida, and The Rook.  

The Outlander season 5 clip, in particular, features Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) looking a lot older with grey hair. Claire is heard saying that "it's time" while looking on to her husband. 

Fans surmised what Claire might have meant by her declaration and have been trying to unveil clues about the new season with just a short teaser. Does she plan on using the stones to travel in time again?

There is also a clip of Jamie and Claire standing next to a pile of sticks to represent a prye. Does this also signify a major plot reveal when the Outlander season 5 is based on Diana Gabaldon's book, "The Fiery Cross"?

Meanwhile, there have been theories that Brianna (played by Sophie Skelton) might time travel in Outlander season 5 again. The clue came from the actress herself, who posted on social media that she's sporting a new and shorter hairstyle. 

Viewers have a lingering question over whether or not Brianna could return to the future and be with her husband, Roger MacKenzie (played by Richard Rankin) in Outlander season 5. As it can be recalled, Brianna used the stones to time travel to her parents last season to warn them of their deaths. 

Skelton's modern haircut, however, suggested that she be back in the 20th century in Outlander season 5 where her husband, per Daily Express. However, it will be curious to watch how she's able to return with a new baby in tow since it's not yet sure if the child would be able to survive the time travel. 

Fans theorized, however, that Brianna will likely leave her baby boy with her parents. The answers to these speculations will be answered in 170 days until the return of Outlander season 5.
