The latest Tesla pickup render is truly the stuff of imagination. It is designed to capture Elon Musk's "cyberpunk" vision perfectly and will embody the "spirit of adventure."
The render design is created by the Georgia-based industrial designer and gearhead Giogi Tedoradze. According to Teslarati, this design is the most grounded render of this pickup just yet.
What is amazing about the render is that it is able to truly understood what Musk envisioned and then executed. Musk wanted a massive metal beast that has all the functionality of an electric pickup. So it cannot be just all about the looks.
It can be remembered that at a Tesla's Shareholder Meeting, Elon Musk said the company's pickup truck will look "cyberpunk", as if it jumped out of a "sci-fi movie." He explained, "We're trying to create something new and it's not just basically a copy of the form factor of everything else... I think it's the coolest car I've ever seen."
Teslarati added that the design render is stunning because of its "high ground clearance, its wide stance, its muscular hood, and a fascia that appears to have been inspired by design elements of Tesla's existing vehicles such as the Model X and Model 3." Production will take a while, but such a description can already elicit some excitement.
The beast is likely to do well on rugged terrains and not just because of its touch exteriors or appearance. The pickup planned is truly packed to handle some rigorous off-road activities. Musk wants this car to have the capacity to tow cargo as heavy as 300,000 pounds after all.
Musk has earlier on said that this Tesla pickup will be so much better than the Ford F-150 in terms of functionality. He also envisions this as being able to outrun a Porsche. The fact that it's labeled a "cyberpunk" means the company is nowhere interested in producing something that looks conventional or traditional. Given this, Tedoradze's design might be closely hitting the spot.
The pickup, allegedly to be called the Tesla Model B, is said to make an appearance before the year ends. If production goes well, then this could be glimpsed by November. Sales of this Tesla pickup, however, will officially start in 2021. Estimated prices range from $49,000 to $50,000. These prices are not cheap, but they are significantly lower than the price to be attached to the Rivian R1T, which will go into production in 2020.
