Former First Lady Michelle Obama's recent comments about former President Barack Obama have intensified speculation of a growing rift between the couple, with insiders suggesting the relationship may be nearing a breaking point. Speaking during a conversation with radio host Angie Martinez, Michelle appeared to dismiss the idea of having had a son with Barack, responding, "He would have been a Barack Obama."

The remarks, made amid rumors that the former first couple's relationship has become strained, are being viewed by some Washington insiders as further evidence of emotional distance. "She's not even hiding her disdain for her husband any longer," a Beltway source told the National Enquirer. "It's clear she doesn't care what he or anybody else thinks. She's obviously done with him."

The comment wasn't isolated. During a March appearance on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast, Michelle also rejected the idea of expanding their family. "I just had to stop," she said, referring to the couple's two daughters. "I was like, 'I think I've been lucky with these two.'"

Reports indicate that Barack, 63, was "deeply embarrassed and wounded" by Michelle's public remarks, with one source claiming he told his inner circle, "it's time for both he and Michelle to go their separate ways." The couple's marriage, which began in 1992, has long been under public scrutiny, but recent statements and absences have added fuel to speculation.

In June, Michelle publicly praised the strength of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa's marriage during an episode of the IMO podcast with her brother Craig Robinson. In an earlier episode, she drew attention for joking about Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, saying if she were single and he was too, she might book a stay at his home.

Despite the headlines, the Obamas have remained publicly supportive of their children. On July 4, both Barack and Michelle shared tributes to their daughter Malia on her 27th birthday. Michelle posted, "Happy birthday to my darling, Malia! You've grown into such a smart, strong, and beautiful young woman... Keep shining bright, my love." Barack echoed the sentiment: "Happy birthday, Malia! Thanks for always lighting up our world. So proud of you."

Just weeks earlier, they also celebrated Sasha's 24th birthday with family photos and messages. "Watching you grow into the incredible woman you are has been a true gift," Barack wrote. Michelle added, "Can't believe how quickly time has flown. I'm so proud of the woman you've become."

Since leaving the White House, Malia and Sasha have led largely private lives, with Malia pursuing a film career under the name "Malia Ann." Michelle addressed her daughter's decision to drop the Obama surname during a Sibling Revelry podcast appearance, explaining, "We respected the fact that she's trying to make her way."

"They're very sensitive to that - they want to be their own people," Michelle said, emphasizing both daughters' desire to build independent careers apart from their presidential lineage.
