The waiting game is still not over. And it might take a while before it finally ends as The Last Kingdom Season 4 will not yet arrive this year.
There is no confirmation yet as to when the new season will drop on Netflix. Even so, the current schedule of its production, including shooting and filming, already tells a lot about the show's movements.
According to What's On Netflix, the first half of The Last Kingdom Season 4 is already done in terms of filming and shooting. And right now, the whole production crew and cast are on a hiatus since July.
The new season began its production in April. And if based on current schedules, it appears that it takes 3 to 4 months to accomplish four to five episodes of the show.
As for filming's continuation, there are no new updates yet regarding the matter. But whatever the case though, one thing is for sure - The Last Kingdom Season 4 will not make it to the home screens within this year.
The publication went on to assert that the possible case for the show's arrival is that it might happen early or mid next year. And this means that the fans will need to wait for at least three to six more months.
Quite obviously, this saddens many fans. But even so, Fansided via Winter Is Coming emphasizes that The Last Kingdom Season 4 will be bigger and bolder than its previous installments. Hence, waiting for a few more months will just be fitting. Others would even concede that it will be worth it.
The popular fan site also revealed that the upcoming season would feature more "blood baths" as the battles are hinted to be much more detailed and expanded. And certainly, fans would love this kind of graphics and cinematography.
Aside from these teasers, some of the cast members also hinted that there would be a lot of "surprises" when the new season arrives on Netflix. So, fans must watch out.
In totality, Season 4 will house new ten episodes. And it's somehow revealed that it will cover the latter parts of Bernard Cornwell's Death of Kings and the two succeeding books, The Pagan Lord and The Empty Throne, from the novel series.
It is worth noting that there will be three more books to cover after The Empty Throne. And this could mean that the show might have another new season after the incoming one. So, The Last Kingdom will likely have more seasons after the fourth on Netflix.
