Are You The One season 8 episode 11 opened with the Match-Up Ceremony that had Max and Justin hoping for a "fourth beam." If they did, then they would be a perfect match based on their calculations.
But the contestants on Are You the One season 8 was one beam short of what they expected thus allowing Danny to declare that Max and Justin is not the perfect match. It was a crushing blow to the couple, and they both had different reactions after the ceremony.
Max decided he would close off on anyone else in Are You the One season 8, while Justin thought they should make themselves more open to the rest to raise their chances of winning in the game. The one thing the former couple could agree on was to stop sleeping in the same bed from now on.
"This is the most real thing I've ever felt in my life, on any sort of relationship front," Max said on the show. "And the fact that it's getting ripped out from under me for, I don't even know why, is not right," he added. "I'm devastated."
With Danny and Kai ending up as the perfect match after the ceremony, it was now time to move on to the Gateway Challenge. Max ended up pairing with Amber while Justin went with Kari. Max did pretty well in this challenge, which won him and Amber a Gateway Date.
While lounging in their spa date, the group decided to strategize. They agreed to go with Max and Amber in the next Match-Up Ceremony in Are You the One season 8, despite the Truth Booth saying this pairing isn't going to work.
At that Truth Booth, Max revealed to Kari that Justin wouldn't be her perfect match. He analyzed that Kari longs for security which she won't be able to find in Justin. Instead, Max put himself out there and told Kari that he was her perfect match, but Nour was quick to tell Max that he's only doing this to break up Justin and Kari.
When the next Match-Up came, the group received six beams. There are currently six perfect matches in the house in Are You The One season 8 with one couple under threat. Which pair could it be?
It will all come down to the finale of Are You The One season 8 which will air on Monday, Sept. 9, on MTV at 11:00 p.m.
