Despite being known as the Royal bad boy, Prince Harry did have a long-standing relationship with Chelsy Davy before Meghan Markle. The ex-couple had an on-and-off-again relationship that had a duration of almost seven years.
Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy, definitely, had a history together. So, why didn’t they end up married to each other? A report claimed that there is a reason for that.
Queen Elizabeth hates royal scandals and would love to avoid it as much as she can. However, the Royals are also human beings who make mistakes like the commoners. Hence, it comes as no surprise that some of them were involved in such controversies.
With that said, there are still a lot of Royal scandals, such as affairs and divorces, which the Queen is not too pleased about. “The concept of divorce goes against the Queen’s whole upbringing, which is about duty and about soldiering on in the face of adversity,” the Palace aid said.
Queen Elizabeth wanted her grandsons to be more vigilant, warning them not to get married too quickly. “Both Princes William and Harry have been in no doubt that when they marry, it’s for keeps. It’s felt that Harry would greatly benefit from several more years as a bachelor,” the Palace aid noted.
With all the royal scandals that Prince Harry was involved in during his younger years, the Queen reportedly didn’t think he was ready to settle down when he was dating Chelsy Davy. Fortunately, for Queen Elizabeth, she got a nod from Chelsy as the Zimbabwean businesswoman previously shared that she wasn’t ready to marry a prince. “It was so full-on: Crazy and scary and uncomfortable. I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t cope,” Chelsy said.
But, when Prince Harry was in a relationship with Meghan Markle, it seemed that he was already mature enough to take the romance seriously. So, on May 19, 2018, the youngest son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana married Meghan at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. Almost a year later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who is seventh in line to the throne.
Although Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy didn’t end up together, it seems that the pair still maintain a good friendship as she was even invited to the prince’s wedding with Meghan Markle. It is safe to say that there are no hard feelings there.
