Even before the ink has dried up, Paramount Network has given the green light to Ink Master season 13. The show is slated to return in 2020 with an expanded 16 episode.
According to Deadline, Paramount Network wants more from its top rating reality TV competition. So, aside from renewing Ink Master season 13, slated for next year, the show is also getting a season 14 for 2021 and its very own YouTube channel where fans can watch previous episodes and various Ink Master content.
Meanwhile, Ink Master season 12 just wrapped up with its finale episode this week by crowing the winner. In the end, it was a battle for the top spot between Laura Marie, Dani, and Creepy Jason.
The three contestants' work were analyzed to the very detail by the judges. Dani was the first in line, who created a colorful biomechanical tattoo. Creepy Jason presented next with his black and grey sexy pirate design. Laura Marie was last with her Japanese-inspired creation, which was the tattoo that the judges liked best. So, she ended up walking away with the top prize and the title of Ink Master for season 12.
During the finale, some details about Ink Master season 13 were also announced. The theme for next season will be "Turf Wars." Basically, this season will pit tattoo artists from different parts of the country, which will be divided into North, South, East, and West.
It looks like there will be four teams competing with around four or five people each during the early rounds of Ink Master season 13. Will this follow a similar format as roadhouse barbeque game where it will come down to two competing themes in the final round? Because this is a reality competition, viewers should expect some twist along the way as well.
At this point, it's still too early to tell how Ink Master season 13 will be structured given its theme. For now, the producers have to plan their destinations to find the contestants or tattoo artists for the upcoming season first.
Paramount Network will likely have more announcements about Ink Master season 13, including its premiere date. It's possible that the show could return for sometime in January or February next year for its Winter season run.
