Jodie Comer recently won the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama -- thanks to her role in Killing Eve. Now, the actress, who portrays the role of the fashionable assassin Villanelle in the series, teased that her character will reveal its true self in Killing Eve season 3.
Comer admitted she couldn't reveal too many information about Killing Eve season 3, but she did reveal that her character will delve into a "deeper sense" in the upcoming installment. While the actress said she was "sworn to secrecy" for the new season, she couldn't help but teased who her character really is.
She said there's still a lot of craziness that's going to happen and Villanelle will be using her old tricks. As reported by Bustle, The actress explained Killing Eve season 3 will unravel many layers of her personality, and will reveal her true self.
Comer said her character's outer shell is Villanelle, but there's a real person inside of her. And as the series goes on, Comer noted they're peeling that shell away to get to the core of who she is, or facing the things she pushed down for so long.
However, Comer added that despite the love her character received over the past years, the actress does not want people to think Villanelle will be redeemed soon. The actress explained her character is a bad person, and they're not excusing her ever.
In Killing Eve season 3, Comer teased that there's something they're going to look at and have to think about. The actress said the new season will tap into Villanelle's emotions -- like what she does feel and what she doesn't. She added that there's so much to delve into in regards to that.
In another report, Comer dismissed claims of rivalry with fellow Emmy nominee Killing Eve co-star Sandra Oh (plays the role of Eve Polastri). In an interview with Variety, the actress insisted there's no rivalry between the two of them, and they're actually "celebratory" of each other's successes.
In fact, while Comer said the Emmy night was a bit blurred for her, she did remember a few key things. For instance, the actress recalled Oh embracing her, while show creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge cheered for her before climbing onstage.
Comer said she didn't know what she was thinking that time, referring to her Emmy award. She also revealed she's in a complete state of shock and strangely calm during that day as she didn't think she would be the winner.
