The season premiere revealed the departure of Jerry Ortega (Jorge Garcia). Although he managed to survive Azra Hassan's (Yasmin Dar) shot, he chose to step away from the task and live a different life. So, will there still be a chance for his return someday?
Jerry started to write a book about the United States Federal Reserve's connection to what happened to the Titanic. In an interview with TVLine, Garcia said he was grateful for his time on the show. He debuted in the series in Season 4.
But would Jerry return to Hawaii Five-0 Season 10? "I loved getting to return to the islands and creating a character that connected with so many people. Playing Jerry was a blast, and I look forward to popping in again to play with my TV ohana," he said.
Showrunner Peter M. Lenkov, on the other hand, added Garcia was a "breath of fresh air" in the series. In fact, fans love his character's "quirkiness and kindness." He also assured there would always be a place for the 46-year-old actor in the series.
So, will Hawaii Five-0 Season 10 really bid his goodbye to Garcia? Lenkov told Parade they would never say goodbye to anybody on the series until they are dead. Although there are some people that would leave, there are some that came back all the time.
"I don't want to give away any spoilers about anybody leaving the show, but unless they're dead, there's always that door that's open for them to come back," he explained. To recall, the previous season ended with a gun pointed at Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughline). After a while, a shot rang out.
Hawaii Five-0 Season 10 Episode 1 exactly picked up where the previous season left off. And what happened from here would affect the show's future. Despite Jerry's exit, McGarrett and the rest of the team found a new ally.
Everything works perfectly right as an assassin targets the mob bosses on the island. Hence, Lenkov revealed they brought in Katrina Law in the series to play the role, Quinn Liu. Fans are about to know more of her in the future episodes and how she will manage to work with everybody.
Lenkov hopes both fans and them will learn new things about the characters and develop them even more. Their primary focus today is to make their characters as interesting as they are from Season 1 to Season 10. Hawaii Five-0 Season 10 airs every Friday on CBS.
