This week's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians focused on the difficulties of co-parenting when you're separated. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have been having these problems lately with their growing kids, Mason, 9, and Penelope, 7,
It all began when Penelope's nanny quit her job after the little girl apparently slapped her nanny on the face in a fit of rage. While this wasn't shown on television, Kourtney admitted on her family's reality TV show that this was why she has been looking for new help since the nanny left.
Kourtney shared that she felt anxious after watching the episode, especially after Corey Gamble, the boyfriend of her mom, Kris Jenner, said that he would've spanked Penelope for the way she behaved. Some viewers also posted their reactions on social media and called out Kourtney for seemingly spoiler her daughter.
While one side thinks the Kardashian moms need to discipline their children, others were on the side of Kourtney. They encouraged her that no one should dictate how she should parent her children.
Later in the episode, Kourtney talked about how she also dealt with another parenting problem with her son Mason, after his school called. Apparently, the misbehaving child was sent to the principal's office recently for fighting with another child but his mom had a lukewarm response to what happened.
Kourtney even allowed Mason to go to his playdate afterward when he promised that he would write an apology letter. When Scott found out about this, though, he lashed out on Kourtney on the phone.
As discussed on AfterBuzz TV, Scott was apparently reeling from the fact that his son won't be able to realize the consequences of misbehaving because his mother allowed him to proceed to the sleepover with his friends. The father worried about his boy because he himself grew up not learning about consequences.
Scott shared in the show's confessional that the lack of discipline from the adults led him to take drugs, which in turn landed him into a lot of trouble when he was younger. And it's things like these that he hopes his children would be able to avoid.
Kourtney and Scott are having tough conversations about how to raise their kids well. The fact that they have separate lives makes it even harder. Will Kourtney see things from Scott's side when it comes to disciplining their children?
