The Flash Season 6 may not be out yet, but details about its second episode now emerge. Aside from Tom Cavanagh's return, John Wesley Shipp will also make a comeback. However, it remains to be seen what character is he going to play.
Given that the major crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths, will happen this season, it is not yet revealed if Shipp would reprise his role as Jay Garrick or take another character from the Arrowverse. However, according to CarterMatt, his return will bring back a lot of emotional moments in regard of the memories Barry (Grant Gustin) had with Henry Allen. This what made his appearance in the previous crossover, Elseworlds, a fun sight to see.
"Faced with the news of his impending death, Barry's resiliency suffers as he struggles to fight fate," The Flash Season 6 Episode 2 official synopsis. "Meanwhile, Cecile's (Danielle Nicolet) career as D.A. conflicts with her identity when she crosses paths with a villainous meta-human."
By the looks of it, what will happen in the second episode teases the major problem the new season will have, and it has something to do with the "real debate over mortality." There are questions if Barry can escape or even avoid death or what could be the possible version of it.
The newspaper headlines saw Barry vanishes in "crisis." However, there is no proper indication that he is already dead or gone. He may only possibly disappear and find a way to return to his wife, which give a nod to the song from the musical crossover. It is also probable that he didn't dissipate and what happened to him is yet to be discovered in The Flash Season 6 Episode 2.
Meanwhile, the new season's trailer showed the return of Cavanagh as Harrison Wells. ComicBook noted the 55-year-old star would return to play a new version of his character and would also appear as Pariah in Crisis on Infinite Earths and possibly as the Reverse-Flash.
So far, it is not yet revealed who would be a regular part of the Team Flash in the upcoming installment. So, everything will eventually be revealed when the new season comes out on Tuesday, Oct. 8, on The CW. It will be followed by The Flash Season 6 Episode 2 on Oct. 15.
