One of the worst fears for any parent is to see their children waste away their life and that's what has happened to Ghost (played by Omari Hardwick) in Power season 6 episode 7. He grows desperate over his son Tariq (played by Michael Rainey Jr.), who has been lured to a life that his father desperately wants him to avoid.
In a teaser for Power season 6 episode 7, Ghost reminds his son that he has to think smarter so that he won't end up like his father in a life of crime. Ghost has a plan to move Tariq to another school so that he could gain something that Ghost never had -- a real education.
But, it looks like this life that his father has chosen for him is not what Tariq wants as the teaser reveals he's still dealing drugs and getting associated with small-time street criminals. Power season 6 episode 7 is aptly titled "Like Father, Like Son," which hints that, perhaps, no matter what Ghost tries to do, his son is destined to follow in his footsteps.
Tariq has shown just how much corrupted he has become in Power season 6 episode 6 when it was revealed that he planned out his own hostage with his captor Vincent (played by Joe Perrino). The two worked it out that they'll con Ghost and Tommy (played by Joseph Sikora) and split the ransom money between them.
The young man, however, still has a lot to learn from these schemes as he didn't realize Vincent has his own plan of double-crossing everyone and killing Tarig, Ghost and Tommy once he's got the cash. Predictably, the whole plan to rescue Tariq and pay the ransom goes haywire.
By some stroke of miracle, Benny (played by Domenick Lombardozzi) and his crew save the day in Power season 6 episode 6 because Tariq once helped them before. Benny warns Vincent that he won't like going to war with his crew and so the other guy backs off.
After what was said and done, however, Ghost realized that Tariq knew about Proctor's death. Worse, the kid even lied about it to the cops, which freaked out Tasha (played by Naturi Naughton).
So, as one war ends with Tariq back home safe, another conflict re-ignites between Ghost and Tommy. Tune in to Power season 6 episode 7 on Sunday, Oct. 6, to find out what will happen next.
