Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have four children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. Reports claimed that the royal couple are closer to their younger children compared to the older ones.
Despite the claim, one throwback photo, uploaded by a royal fan on Instagram, is reminding everyone of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s relationship with Prince Charles and Princess Anne. The photo showed Her Majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, and Princess Anne spending quality time together. The proud dad can be seen lovingly gazed at his daughter, while the Queen smiled sweetly as she looked at the future King of England.
The young prince squinted as he sat on the ground in between his parents. Princess Anne, on the other hand, looked very happy as she sat on her dad’s knees. Their affection for one another was undeniable despite reports claiming that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were not around all the time for their kids.
Ten years later, the family of four became five. Queen Elizabeth gave birth to Prince Andrew, who the royal historian Piers Brendon said is the Queen’s favorite child. "Prince Andrew is the Queen’s favorite son. He was heroic during the Falklands War – she has a soft spot for him," he shared.
Journalist and broadcaster Jeremy Paxman said that it is because the Duke of York was an active man. “He completed the Marines Commando course, just to show he could, before qualifying as a helicopter pilot. Then, aged just 22, he fought in the Falklands," he said.
As for their grandchild, it was previously reported that Queen Elizabeth’s favorite is Prince Harry and the reason behind makes a lot of sense. Since Prince William is the second in line to the throne, his relationship with his grandmother is “half family and half business,” according to E! News royal correspondent Melanie Bromley.
As for Prince Harry, he can be more relaxed than his older brother as he doesn't have that pressure to be the future ruler of England. Although he is currently the sixth in line to the throne, the Duke of Sussex being king anytime soon is far from happening. Because of that, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry enjoy a grandmother and grandson bond instead of a mentor and apprentice kind of relationship.
