It's official! Netflix dropped a quick Stranger Things Season 4 trailer, hinting a new season would be in the works with a new storyline. The 46-second teaser teased Hawkins is gone, and there might be another place that would be introduced now that Joyce (Winona Ryder), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), and the Byers kids move to another place. So, what will happen from here?

The teaser revealed a rotted Upside Down and later revealed a phrase that read: "We're not in Hawkins anymore." So, what does that mean?

According to CNet, the clock that appeared in the teaser might be an indication that Stranger Things Season 4 would somehow bend and move through time. If this happens, will the show bring back fan-favorite characters like Barbara (Shannon Purser) and Bob (Sean Astin)? Also, where is Hopper (David Harbour)?

When the previous season ended, the last scene revealed a Russian prison held an American, who fans believed to be Hopper. By the looks of it, the Russians are still experimenting on the Upside Down and trying to open the portals on the other side of the world.

However, there are also theories that it couldn't be Hopper but Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine), who might have something to do why the Russians know about the Upside Down and the gates in Hawkins. Does this mean Hopper is dead and Dr. Brenner was the American prisoner the Russians guard pertained?

There are other Stranger Things Season 4 theories that claim Hopper may be trapped in the Upside Down and the only way for him to survive is to escape. A Redditor explained, via ScreenRant, after Joyce turned the keys to close the gate -- right before the Russian scientist got killed by the ray -- Hopper was already nowhere to be seen.

Hence, he might find a way to keep himself safe, and it could be by entering the gate. It might be the reason why the show had emphasized the words "keep the door open three inches," which could be a hint about keeping the portal open for him to survive.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed the importance of the American in the Russian prison. Ross teased the prisoner would play a big role in Stranger Things Season 4. Matt, on the other hand, hinted there would be other towns like Hawkins that have labs and access to alternate dimensions, which the trailer teased.
