The end is near for The Capture after it drops its penultimate episode. As the mini-series is only composed of six episodes, will the show have its second season? Also, what happened in Episode 5, "A Pilgrim of Justice?"

The intense turn of events continued in The Capture Episode 5 when it finally revealed the murderer of Hannah Roberts (Laura Haddock). After she disappeared in the first episode, Hannah returned through flashbacks in "A Pilgrim of Justice."

Here, it was revealed she had teamed up with the Pilgrims to expose the practice of "corrected" footage. They originally planned to get Shaun (Callum Turner) out of jail by exposing the flaw in the Afghanistan footage. However, they have used their corrected clip that framed Shaun for assault and Hannah's disappearance.

The Capture Episode 5 revealed Hannah disappeared in a remote safe house after she jumped on the undetected bus. CCTV monitor Becky (Sharon Rooney) watched the edited clip, but everything went wrong when the CIA flagged it as suspicious. Hence, Shaun got released, and their chance to stroll in court to pull off their stunt was halted.

As the CIA tried to bury the story, DS Nadia Latif (Ginny Holder) illegally leaked the fake footage online. To make the clip looked real, Frank Napier (Ron Perlman) killed Hannah and framed Shaun to keep their secret hidden.

The Pilgrims surprisingly rescued Shaun. They initially planned to put him into police custody to get their "big trial reveal" back on track. However, Shaun didn't want to have a part in this plan. So, he broke free and lay low with Rachel (Holliday Grainger) and DS Patrick Flynn (Cavan Clerkin). From here, The Capture Episode 5 ended with a big question.

After Frank asked the whereabouts of Shaun's daughter, it seemed to hint an intense finale with more tragedies and complications for them to face. So, will there be The Capture Season 6 after the upcoming final episode? Cosmopolitan noted there is no news about the show's renewal.

As the series is reportedly a standalone six-parter, it may tie all its loose end to reveal a proper conclusion in the final episode. However, it remains to be seen if the cast and crew will return after director Ben Chanan announced the show could play out for two years due to its relevance in this time and moment. By the looks of it, fans still have to wait for The Capture season finale to see if there will be Season 2.
