WARNING: This article contains spoilers and plot predictions for Altered Carbon Season 2. Read at your own risk.

A lot has happened over the 10-episode course of Altered Carbon Season 1. While the finale revealed almost every mystery in the pilot season, there are still a few questions left unanswered. One of them includes Ryker's return.

After Kinnaman's Kovac learned the truth behind Rei's betrayal from the uprising, he saved Ryker's stack. Although his original body was murdered, Kovac was able to make a clone for him after all.

In the end, Takeshi Kovac's stack was transferred to another sleeve. It is only recently when the new face of Kovac has been revealed. According to Deadline, Marvel star Anthony Mackie will be the new face of the Kovac's sleeve.

As for Joel Kinnaman, no information has been confirmed yet. Reports are claiming though that he will return for a new role and it might be Ryker's clone, as per fans' receptions.

It is possible considering how the finale wrapped things up. Even so, many are still wondering how this will affect the plot of Altered Carbon Season 2.

In an update made by Den of Geek, it has been hinted that the new season might center on the "reimagination" of a hero. Whether this is referring to the new Takeshi Kovac or other characters in the plot, little is known about the story.

Thankfully though, it pointed out that the main storylines will possibly be adapted from Richard K. Morgan's second book to the novel series titled, Broken Angels. Still, fans are warned that Altered Carbon will continue to deviate from the novel series.

In Season 1, the largest deviation they made was including Quell in the pilot storyline. This is because her character is only introduced in the third book of the novel series. So, fans must expect this kind of drastic change when the new season arrives.

Screen Rant has also revealed other things about the upcoming plot. Based on the scoop, Altered Carbon Season 2 might follow the 30-year gap from the books. Also, it is hinted that it might feature new huge alien spacecraft and nuclear explosions.

Whatever the case though, it seemingly appears that the production has remained quiet and protective of the upcoming plot. While it's a buzzkill for some, others, however, take it as a good thing since this will not cause any spoilers ahead of the show's premiere, which is set in the early months of 2020.
