Marty Byrde has a ton on his plate in the upcoming Ozark Season 3. The casino will be up and running this season while he deals with other personal issues.
The anticipation for Ozark Season 3 is getting bigger following the huge win at the recent 2019 Emmy Awards. Lead actor and director Jason Bateman won the Outstanding Directing For Drama Series beating Game of Thrones, The Handmaid's Tale, Killing Eve, and Succession.
Bateman shares some details on what fans could look forward to in the third installment. He confirmed that the casino is already operational when the Netflix crime drama series returns. Bateman teased that it will give both positive and negative opportunities to the Byrdes. Overall, the casino will have a huge impact on the lives of Byrdes.
Season 2 ended with Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) informing Marty (Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) that Ruth's father is dead. The Byrde family then poses for a photo in front of the riverboat, but Marty has a disturbed look on his face because of Helen's news. He knows that his wife was involved in Cade Langmore's (Trevor Long) death and it could have repercussions on them.
Bateman also revealed that Ozark Season 3 will pick up six months after where the previous season left off. Many things could happen to the Byrde family in six months.
For one, Charlotte Byrde (Sofia Hublitz) could still be pushing or already got emancipated and about to leave Ozarks and her family behind. She and Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan) could also be a couple when the series returns.
As for Wendy, viewers have seen in the previous season that she has gone to her dark side. Now that the casino is fully operational, she is expected to play an important role in its operation, and her decision to stay in Ozark could cause clashes with her husband, Marty (Bateman).
The 10-episode Ozark Season 3 has been confirmed in October 2018. The production for the upcoming installment commenced in May, and it is scheduled to wrap up this month. Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the third season, but it is expected to premiere late this year or in early 2020.
Meanwhile, aside from the Byrde family, the other characters that are expected to return in Ozark Season 3 are Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), Rachel (Jordana Spiro), Three (Carson Holmes), and Frank Cosgrove (John Bedford Lloyd). The new additions to the cast members include Joseph Sikora (Frank Cosgrove Jr.), Felix Solis (Omar Navarro), Madison Thompson (Erin Pierce), and Marylouise Burke (Sue Shelby).
