In less than a month, Jack Ryan Season 2 is about to hit the small screens. As fans are now preparing for the show's return, here is everything we know so far.
The new season will bring CIA Officer Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) to South America to investigate the suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle. As he is about to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy, the country's president, Nicolás Reyes (Jordi Molla), will launch a counter-attack that will hit Jack hard, per TVLine.
From here, Jack and other operations will go on a global mission. They will go around the United States, the U.K., Russia, and Venezuela to expose the president's evil plan and help bring stability to the country that is on the brink of chaos.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Krasinski, who is also the show's executive producer, revealed Jack would be a "changed man" in Jack Ryan Season 2. "This is a guy who very openly stated, 'Here's all the work. Go get the bad guys. I don't want to be a part of it,' " he said. "But now his eyes have been opened, and he can't go back."
Aside from Krasinski, Wendell Pierce will also return in the second season to reprise his role as James Greer. Michael Kelly and Noomi Rapace will also join the cast as the by-the-book Caracas CIA station chief Mike November and the German undercover agent Harriet "Harry" Baumann, respectively. The latter may play either the role of Jack's new possible love interest or mortal enemy.
Krasinski revealed he wanted to team up with Rapace so bad and might eventually have feelings for her. However, as he is always aware that this is espionage, it will never be like a date at the mall, as it can go south at any time.
Pierce, on the other hand, added fans would soon find out who Harry really is now that she gets involved in the team. He also teased there would be a synergy of what Jack and James both work on in Jack Ryan Season 2.
He told TV Insider their storylines would come together as they work with each other and discover a group of people who "don't have America's best interests at heart." This might include the Venezuelan President, as people never like him, and he has not been totally honest about what he is really trying to do.
With the addition of new characters and the threat of the past, Jack never knows who to trust, so he will always have to watch his back. Jack Ryan Season 2 is set to be out on Friday, Nov. 1, on Amazon Prime.
