The revelations and lies in Season 3 finale are the focus of the upcoming 13 Reasons Why Season 4. Many lives are expected to change once the truth about Bryce's killer will be revealed.
The third season of 13 Reasons Why was focused more on the death of Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice) and the final episode disclosed the truth about it. It was revealed that Alex Standall (Miles Heizer) is the one responsible for Bryce's death and not Monty (Timothy Granaderos).
Viewers are wondering if Alex will be arrested in Season 4 for Bryce's murder especially after a cover-up on the case has been revealed in Season 3 finale. Will Winston (Deaken Bluman) go public about what he knows?
It can be recalled that in the third season finale, Ani (Grace Saif) told Alex's father, Deputy Sheriff Standall (Mark Pellegrino), that Monty was behind Bryce's murder. She told him that Monty snapped after he was confronted on the field and went to see Bryce at the river where he was left beaten by Zach Dempsey (Ross Butler).
However, while Ani is telling her story, it was also revealed what really happened on that tragic day. Alex and Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe) initially went to help Bryce as he was beaten so badly by Zach. But Alex snapped when Bryce threatened Zach. He pushed Byrce into the water and watched him drown.
It looks like Deputy Sheriff Standall believes in Ani's story, but it was also hinted in the episode that he knows the truth about his son's role in the incident. Towards the end of the episode, Deputy Standall was seen burning evidence that could link Alex to the crime.
Still, the truth about Bryce's murder is expected to be revealed in the upcoming season. If Jessica remains silent about it, the truth may come from Winston.
In Season 3 finale, Winston was seen confronting Ani outside of Cafe Monet about lying to Deputy Sheriff Standall. Williams revealed that Monty was with him on the night of Bryce's death, which means Monty is nowhere near the crime scene.
When the truth is revealed in Season 4, Alex is not the only one who will be implicated in Bryce's murder. Deputy Standall could face charges for covering up Alex's crime, Jessica as a witness to the murder, and possibly Ani for lying to the police.
Meanwhile, Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for 13 Reasons Why Season 4. The production for the next installment, however, has already started on August 1, 2019. Netflix also announced that Season 4 would feature the core characters' graduation from High School.
Also, the network has confirmed that CSI: New York actor Gary Sinise will join the final season of the teen drama. The Academy Award-nominated actor will be playing the role of Dr. Robert Ellman, a family therapist who will help Clay Jensen (Minnette) battle his anxiety, depression, and grief.
