The Last Kingdom's fandom is getting bigger as the series is heading to its fourth season. Fans will be more excited to know that Uhtred's grown-up daughter will finally be introduced in The Last Kingdom Season 4.
Many have died in the previous installment of The Last Kingdom but the series will also introduce new characters this season. Fans will finally see more matured Stiorra in the upcoming season.
Actress Ruby Hartley has been cast to play Uhtred's (Alexander Dreymon) grown-up daughter. Series actress Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith) shared a photo of Hartley on her Instagram Story, and it also confirmed that there would be a time jump in Season 4. This means fans may also see a little older Uhtred of Bebbanburg in the upcoming installment.
Aside from grown-up Stiorra, a new character named Cenric will also debut this season. Hungarian actor Mate Haumann will be portraying the character.
Cenric is not a character from Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories in which the TV series The Last Kingdom is based on. However, Winter Is Coming believed that Haumann is playing a major character since the actor had mentioned that he has been filming throughout this summer, which means he shot several scenes for this season.
Additionally, Netflix has also confirmed that Prime Suspect 1973 actress Stefanie Martini joined join the cast as Eadith, who is Æthelred's new love interest. If I Stay actor Jamie Blackley, on the other hand, will be playing the role of Aethelred's new right-hand man, Eardwulf.
Meanwhile, as the kingdoms deal with King Alfred's (David Dawson) death, Uhtred is planning to challenge his uncle Aelfric (Joseph Millson) and reclaim his ancestral home, Bebbanburg. However, fate shifts in a different direction, and Uhtred will eventually realize that his destiny is tied to the late king's dream of a united land.
Uhtred will be helping King Edward (Timothy Innes) in fulfilling Alfred's dream of uniting the lands. Edward will struggle in his first years as king of Wessex. Many of his subjects remain loyal to his father.
Meanwhile, a romance between Uhtred and Aethelflaed (Millie Brady) could finally blossom in Season 4. Aethelflaed's husband, Aethelred (Alec Newman), is plotting to kill her and Uhtred could be her savior.
The series cast and crew have started filming in April. The Last Kingdom Season 4 will have 10 episodes. It is expected to premiere next year.
