Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi may have not shared some important details about their upcoming wedding yet, but people are already busy speculating as to what will happen in the ceremony. Now, a new report revealed that the couple may be breaking royal tradition in a surprise wedding move.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shares a two-year-old son with ex-fiancee Dara Huang named Christopher, who they are believed to call by the nickname Wolfie. Now that the 36-year-old British property developer is set to marry Princess Beatrice in 2020, reports shared that Wolfie will be heavily involved in the wedding.

Normally in royal tradition, the best man is the groom’s brother, cousin, or best friend. For example, Prince William’s best man was his younger brother Prince Harry, and the Duke of Sussex’s best man was his older brother the Duke of Cambridge.

But for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding, a tipster claimed that the latter’s young son will be his best man, which never happened in any royal weddings before. According to a Daily Mail source, Dara Huang is very protective of Wolfie, but she is not one to keep her son away from his father’s special day. “In a very modern and grown-up way, she is totally happy that Beatrice will be developing a relationship with her son and is happy that he will attend the wedding as Edo’s best man,” the insider said.

While there’s a high chance that Wolfie will be Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s best man in his wedding to Princess Beatrice, one very important member of the royal family may not attend the union — Queen Elizabeth. An earlier report shared that due to Her Majesty’s age, it would be very difficult for her to travel overseas. In fact, she had already distributed her royal trips to the younger generation.

Since Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is from Italy, there is a possibility that he and Princess Beatrice will tie the knot there. With Queen Elizabeth being 93 years old, she is certainly not in the perfect condition to attend the wedding if held outside London.

Meanwhile, even though Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Dara Hiang’s romance didn’t work out, the pair maintained a good co-parenting relationship. “Edo is easily one of the best dads, he is so involved, and Beatrice is already showing that she’s a fantastic step-mommy. They’ve been on family vacations together. They are really happy,” an insider told People.
