The CW's Monday nights will be filled with more football. After performing well during the premiere, the network commissioned three more additional episodes for All American Season 2.

This matches the full-season order of the pilot course, making it an advantage considering not all series materials today get a "full-season" order. As per Deadline, the number of series that receives a 22-episode season is becoming much fewer than before. So, having a full 16-episode count is already a good point.

The premiere titled, Hussle & Motivate, gave a foretaste of what is to come in the new season. Surprisingly, it became compelling enough, given the viewership records that it obtained for the network.

According to TV LineAll American "notched" its largest audience during the recently released premiere. The viewership number was up by 20 percent in comparison with the first season premiere, giving a total of 926,000 viewers.

It was also up by 72 percent in viewership number from the previous season's finale last March. Not to mention, the demo ratings were also up by 198 percent in 18-34 and 154 percent in 18-49.

The network and critics are convinced that the dramatic increase in its viewership records is likely due to its arrival on Netflix last summer. Although it is not clear if this is a factor to consider, reports claim that the show is now aiming to provide more entertaining and compelling storylines.

All American Season 2 continues the high school football career of Spencer James. While he is now a State Champion, he will face his biggest dilemma yet as he may need to choose between family and career.

There are no clear indications yet as to how Spencer will move forward with his situation. Even so, it is worth considering that the show is "inspired" by the pro footballer, Spencer Paysinger's life. Therefore, avid fans of football today may have a few ideas on how the story will proceed.

Variety also pointed out that the show's recent achievement with The CW is one of the network's "first" for the 2019-2020 series slate. Needless to say, the show started its second run in a strong position and now hoping to continue the hype throughout the season.

Along with All American, Fox's new series material, Prodigal Son, also started its pilot run in a strong course. As it happened, it is deemed as the first new series of the year to get a full-season order.

All American Season 2 will continue its course on October 14 with the episode titled, Speak Ya Clout.
