Archer Season 11 obtained its renewal a few months back. While many of the avid fans are excited to see what will happen next to Sterling Archer, some are convinced that this might already serve as the finality of the show. It's because the genre-hopping for the past three seasons did not work for them. So, having to start all over again with Archer all-healed may seem like an ending to the story.
It is worth noting that fans and viewers only make these perceptions of the show. Also, there are still those fans who loved the idea of "hopping" genres for the past years.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Archer's executive producers, Matt Thompson and Casey Willis, shared why they came up with the idea of genre-hopping inside Archer's head during his coma. Based on statements, they revealed that they got "bored" with the usual dynamic they had for seven seasons. So, changing a bit of style and dynamic, even only for three seasons, added new hype and excitement toward the show.
Although many enjoyed Archer Seasons 8 to 10, the viewership records showed an apparent decline in numbers. According to TV Series Finale, there's a 25 percent decline in viewers after Season 10. This only goes to show that not everyone was delighted with how the show proceeded.
Accordingly, many are now wondering what will happen in Archer Season 11 in terms of the show's future. It has been already made known that Sterling Archer will face difficulties, given that he just woke up after three years from a coma. Hence, the upcoming season will likely be an installment centering on changes and adjustments to these new realities in Archer's life.
With these descriptions at hand, some are convinced that it might be the finality of the show. Not to mention the apparent decline, which may be a factor if ever the network decides to ax the adult series for good.
Nevertheless, some are still hopeful and positive that Archer will have more new seasons after the upcoming eleventh. And if the new season will prove to provide more compelling arcs, FX can renew the show again and again after every next one.
All in all, though, it is unclear whether Archer Season 11 will work better than the last installments or not. Until the new season arrives, there's no direct telling about the matter.
