Harold Cooper is one of the fan-favorite characters of The Blacklist. Ever since the pilot season, he has been playing the patriarchal figure of the task force. While it has not been blatantly spilled, his character has proven the stance over the years.
All previous reports about Season 7 focused on Red's identity, Katarina's arrival, and Liz's reunion with Agnes. Quite obviously, this is because the previous season ended in these courses.
But, now that the new season has begun to drop new episodes, reports now have much wider scope in terms of contents. And just recently, it has been hinted that Harold Cooper will play an integral part in the new season as his "moral compass" will be put to the test.
According to Cartermatt, the focus on Harold Cooper's character will start in The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 4 titled, Kuwait. Little has been shared about the entirety of the episode. Even so, it seemingly appears that Harold's life will be tackled given that someone from his past will "resurface."
Some fans are convinced that Kuwait is probably where Harold and this "someone" met a few years or decades back. It is also likely that things went south between the two, which is why this person in the present will haunt him back.
It has also been hinted that what happened with Harold before made him the man he is today. So, the arrival of this person in The Blacklist Season 7 will be a pivotal moment for Harold and the rest of the task force.
In an interview with The Wrap, series creator, Jon Bokencamp revealed that Harold would be a "wildcard" for Season 7. He also teased that he probably knows something about Red's true identity.
As to how far the length of this knowledge goes, it's yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, this arc will certainly bring a huge concern and issue among all the characters involved, especially on Liz's part.
Alongside his knowledge or his part on Red's identity, Jon Bokencamp further teased that The Blacklist Season 7 will have a huge story coming for Harold Cooper. It is unclear if this is what other reports are claiming.
Whatever the case, though, fans are excited to see more of his personal life given that his overall character dynamic is one of the bests on the show. However, fans may need to wait a little more before witnessing the start of his backstory as the episode titled, Kuwait, will air on October 25.
The upcoming episodes will drop on October 11 and October 18, on NBC.
