It has been over a year after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially tied the knot. Even so, a lot of things have already changed between the couple and the biggest of them all is the arrival of their son, Prince Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

As it appears, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very much "in love" with each other. Reports even claim that the relationship, along with Prince Archie, is becoming much stronger.

However, critics widely claim that their marriage will not last long. Within a few years, a lot of people are convinced that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will divorce each other.

With these notions at hand, many are also wondering what will happen to Meghan Markle and baby Archie. Will they remain part of the royal family? Where will Prince Archie stay?

According to Cheat Sheetdivorce is no longer a new thing in the British monarchy. In fact, Prince Harry's parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, are just some of the apparent divorces among the royals. In the same year when they got divorced, the Queen's other son, Prince Andrew, also divorced his wife, Sarah Ferguson.

As seen in the events of these previous royal divorces, the same thing will also apply to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry if they get a divorce in the future. Now that the Duchess of Sussex has given birth to Archie, who is the seventh in line for the throne, Meghan will remain royal, whatever happens between her and the Duke of Sussex.

As for Prince Archie's custody, there will be no battle between his parents. This is because the law states that the custody "belongs to the Sovereign." Hence, the Queen "technically" has the rights and she will have the legal custody of Archie.

Therefore, Archie will stay in the United Kingdom to fulfill his duties even without her mother. On the other hand, Meghan Markle will be allowed to "relocate" back to the United States. However, bringing Archie with her will be impossible, as per experts.

While this may seem too firm for a mother, the royals have observed this law since the 1700s and it has never been broken despite all the divorces that happened in the royal family.

All in all though, these are just "glimpses" to a possible future. So, unless Meghan Markle and Prince Harry get a divorce, these will all remain theoretical. Despite what the reports and critics are claiming, it looks like the Sussex family is happy in their new home at the Frogmore Cottage.
