Princess Beatrice is now busy planning her marriage with her boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in 2020. As details about the much-awaited wedding emerge, it looks the Princess of York is about to veer away from the traditional royal wedding to make her special day a simple family affair.
Royal fans may feel a bit disappointed after news emerged that Princess Beatrice and Mozzi will opt for a simpler wedding. There will be no carriage ride and no reception at Windsor Castle, per Express. Hence, people have no reason to go to the Royal House for a royal day out, as the venue may take place at the Royal Lodge, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson's home.
Princess Beatrice reportedly told her parents that she is not interested in having the same wedding that her sister, Prince Eugenie, had. In the latter's wedding day with Jack Brooksbank last year, Eugenie chose to have a full royal affair, donning a diamond tiara.
The Princesses of York are not obliged to follow the royal protocol as the ninth and tenth in the line of succession to the throne. In fact, they don't have to ask for permission to get engaged and not required to have the full procession. So, Princess Beatrice wants to take advantage of her freedom.
Princess Beatrice's plan will also be in favor of the Royal Family. It will be a lot cheaper compared to Princess Eugenie's wedding, which came under fire for reportedly costing £2 million of taxpayers' money to pay for the police.
According to Daily Mail, Princess Beatrice feels relieved that she can have a quieter, private wedding. She, allegedly, told her friends she has yet to decide where the exchange of vows would take place, but she is hoping to hold it in a smaller venue where things would be more casual.
"Beatrice has said she and Edo are looking at alternative venues because she wants something different," one of Princess Beatrice's friends said. "The wedding will not be in Italy, and from what they are saying, it won't be in St George's Chapel, Windsor, either."
As St. George's Chapel already held three grand Royal weddings in the past, her friend added Princess Beatrice wanted her nuptial to be in a different place. As Mozzi now has a child, Wolfie, and the soon-to-be bride invited her fiancée's former girlfriend, Dara Huan, to the wedding with their kid, she wanted things to be more low-key.
