After the news of charity split earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's names are now removed from the website of Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Foundation. Despite the Duchess of Cambridge's major plans and high hopes for the organization, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to build an institution of their own. Will this be the cause of the Fab Four's fallout?
Prince William and Kate are now the only listed "principals" of Royal Foundation. To recall, they launched the organization with Prince Harry. The two princes originally set up the foundation, but the Duke of Cambridge now gets the lone credit for being the charity's founder, per Daily Mail Online.
The projects Prince Harry launched as part of the Royal Foundation like the Invictus Games and Meghan's Together: Our Community Cookbook are also now gone from Royal Foundation's Programs section. Currently, it only lists five categories: Conservation, Mental Health, Services, Young People, and Early Years. It also removed the former Suits star's Empowering Communities program that highlighted her work on female empowerment.
Kate is the patron of the Royal Foundation, which she became a part of after she got married to Prince William in 2011. Meghan also became a part of the trust when she wedded Prince Harry in 2018. However, a fallout, allegedly, happened after the Sussexes announced they would leave the charity to set up their own, called Sussex Royal.
In a 2018 interview with the Fab Four at the Royal Foundation's annual forum, Kate revealed her high hopes for the institution. She was also looking forward to collaborating with other generation of royals to work on Heads Together, a campaign promoting mental health awareness launched by her, Prince William, and Prince Harry.
Kate revealed, via Express, she was "hugely excited with the foundation." At the time, they were still thinking of working together with some "long-term prospects." "Imagine if we were able to do some Heads Together campaign with another generation of members of the Royal Family," she said.
The charity split seems to indicate a fallout between the royal couples. However, many seasoned royal experts claimed there's no feud between the two families. They are only going their separate ways professionally, especially that Prince Harry now has a family of his own.
Prince William and Meghan have their own charitable priorities and shared a vision to perform on their own. "I think that it would be a lie to say that things weren't patchy with William and Harry at one point, but to call it a feud, to call it a fall-out, is far too extreme," royal commentator Omid Scobie said on Yahoo UK's The Royal Box.
