On Monday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, arrived in Pakistan for the start of their royal tour. However, the Duchess already landed herself in a "royal faux pas" on the very first day. Based on reports, the whole situation was "awkward" and "embarrassing."

In a scoop made by Express UK, the royal couple visited a government-run school in the capital, Islamabad. As seen in the video caught by reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton exited the car as a soldier awaits for the two royals.

Prince William was the first one to approach the soldier. He saluted the Duke and they shook hands after. A few moments after, Kate Middleton followed and approached the soldier. She stuck her hand out to shake hands. However, the situation became awkward when the soldier left her hanging to salute her.

The Duchess was seemingly waiting for the soldier to shake hands with her. So, he quickly ended his salutation and shook hands.

Reports claimed that the awkward "faux pas" was not on the soldier's part. As it happens, a soldier has to salute the royals before greeting or shaking hands with them. Hence, the error is all on Kate Middleton's part.

In spite of the awkward situation, no harm was done, and no conflict emerged. The royal couple even had a quick chat with the soldier before walking forward.

The Pakistan Tour has been deemed as the "most complex" royal tour in years. Reports have noted that security concerns have been raised already given the "tricky diplomatic" state in the area.

In other reports, many have noticed that Kate Middleton was wearing a similar outfit worn by Princess Diana in 1996. The Duchess wore a Catherine Walker apparel that seemed to take a nod at Pakistan's national dress. The entirety of the outfit came with a long shirt, trousers, and flared Kurti.

It has also been reported that Kate Middleton has had a huge improvement when it comes to her outfit and style since she became an official member of the British royal family. Many royal watchers have listed several "fashion faux pas" of the Duchess since her arrival to the family.

Even so, Kate Middleton was still able to handle all of her fashion mishaps with grace as per royal fans. While photos of her previous fashion faux pas continue to make the recent headlines, the reports also continue to stress out that she handles everything with grace, just like what happened on the first day of Pakistan tour.
