Earlier this week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially lost their "crown" to Jennifer Aniston. Many are surprised by the news. However, it's not entirely alarming though as reports claimed that it was only "logical."
In April, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a treat to the world when they set up their official Instagram account, SussexRoyal. After months of sharing an account with the Cambridge royals, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Sussex royal couple, can now utilize their own account for their official announcements, messages, and photos.
When they created the account, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry obtained a new title from Guinness World Records. As it happened, the account obtained a million followers in only five hours and 45 minutes. This made them -- their Instagram account -- the world's fastest to reach a million followers upon creation.
However, months after bagging the title, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now lost their "crown" to Friends actress, Jennifer Aniston, as reiterated by Mirror UK.
Jennifer Aniston is a known actress who does not participate or partake in any social media platform. So, when she created her first-ever Instagram account, the world "overdive."
Aside from the fact that the moment was her "social media debut," her first-ever photo did not "disappoint." The actress posted a selfie of her smiling along with the main cast of the popular sitcom, Friends.
In the photo, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry are seen, which became the group's first-ever "full reunion" photo for years. Jennifer Aniston captioned the selfie with a witty note: "now we're Instagram FRIENDS too." She also greeted the world of the social media platform after.
It [the account] only took five hours and 16 minutes to reach a million followers, beating Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's record by half an hour. Currently, it is now sealed on Guinness World Records.
According to the platform's official site, this is already the third time the record has been broken for this year. Kang Daniel, who is a well-known K-Pop star, held the first record when he achieved a million followers in 11 hours and 36 minutes.
Prior to the K-Pop star, the record was held by Argentina's Pope Francis, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who obtained a million followers in 12 hours after creating an account in 2016.
Many fans are convinced that Jennifer Aniston might be the last person to hold the record. If not, then, it's more likely that she'll hold the record for years before someone claims the throne.
