Kate Middleton has a very close relationship to the Queen Elizabeth II but she is not her the favorite in-law of Prince William's grandmother.

Kate can make Queen Elizabeth II relax and laugh in her presence, and listen to her intently. She has proven these on many occasions. Body language expert Judi James told Express that Queen Elizabeth is always more calm in Kate's company than the other members of the royal family.

The Duchess of Cambridge is one of the few members of the royal family who can also make very long eye contact with the head of the British monarchy. James said this only shows that Kate has gained the confidence of Her Majesty.

James also noted Kate's clever way of mirroring the Queen's body language when they appear together. She said the Duchess of Cambridge developed the habit over the years and, now, it looks like a natural trait rather than an acquired one. Kate shows all the signs of a future matriarch of the monarchy that resonates positively with the Queen.

The body language expert added Her Majesty always feels the sense of pride and pleasure toward Kate because she did not feel threatened by Prince William's wife. The Queen took notice of the fact that Kate never tries to upstage her during their public appearances.

However, despite being very close to the Queen, the Duchess of Cambridge doesn't hold the unofficial yet a special title. Prince Charles' wife, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla and Prince Harry's better-half, Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle do not have the title either. Apparently, it belongs to Prince Edward's wife, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.

A royal insider revealed that Queen Elizabeth II always has an extra-special bond with the wife of her youngest son and she makes it a point to meet Sophie whenever she and her family are in Balmoral. The 93-year-old Queen also has a special bond with Edward and Sophie's children, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn.

"She is trusted and relied on by the queen in a way I couldn't say applied to the Duchess of Cambridge or the Duchess of Cornwall. She is like another daughter to Her Majesty, they are that close," a senior royal aide revealed to The Sun

The insider added that the monarch talks to the Countess of Wessex in the way she used to talk to her late sister, Princess Margaret. Sophie is said to be the person who filled the gap in Queen Elizabeth's life when two important women in her life, Margaret and the Queen Mother, died in 2002.

Kate only became an official member of the royal family when she married William in April 2011. Meghan, on the other hand, tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. As for Camila, she has been in a relationship with Prince Charles before and during their previous marriages. They got married in 2005.

In addition, the Queen also doesn't forget that Sophie's marriage to her youngest son, Edward, remains strong and survived the public's scrutiny in comparison to her other children's relationships that failed. Both Prince Charles and Prince Andrew divorced their first wives, Diana, and Sarah Ferguson, respectively. Her Majesty's only daughter, Princess Anne, divorced her first husband Mark Mark Phillip.
