It has been over a year now since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced to the world that a new member would join the British Royal family. Seven months later, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born.

The world, especially the members of the royal family, rejoiced with the Sussex household as they welcome the healthy baby boy. However, speculations continue to arise regarding the Queen's sentiments over Meghan's pregnancy.

Many reports have been claiming that Queen Elizabeth II was "offended" when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their pregnancy during their tour in Australia. It was their first Royal Tour as a couple after tying the knot five months ago.

In the reports, sources asserted that the tour was intended to promote the essential "causes" of the crown. Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were sent to the tour, they were expected to perform the duties on behalf of the Queen. But, as it happened, the focus shifted to Meghan's pregnancy as the announcement came two days after Princess Eugenie's wedding, which was already the start of the tour.

According to Harper's Bazaar, the announcement happened hours before the royal couple landed in Sydney, ahead of their 16-day tour. This prompted many "complaints" that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "inappropriately overshadowed" Princess Eugenie's wedding and the royal tour. Accordingly, a lot of people were convinced and concluded that Queen Elizabeth found the whole picture offensive and inappropriate.

While the allegations may seem viable and true, sources from the same publication noted that the Queen was not offended. Also, the Sussexes did not "inappropriately overshadow" anything as the whole family already knew the pregnancy before the huge events started.

Some reports also covered that the Queen gave the couple permission to tell the rest of the family about the big news so that, when the official announcement emerges, the royal clan will not be surprised.

David Byrne, who is a follower of the British Royal family, revealed that it's part of the protocol for Queen Elizabeth to know everything first-hand, especially matters relating to engagements, weddings, and pregnancies. Hence, when the announcement came, she already knew about it, along with Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

The official announcement came from Kensington Palace on October 15, 2018. It also revealed that Meghan Markle would give birth sometime in the spring of 2019. Based on the confirmation, everyone in the family are "delighted" for the couple.
