The title of the upcoming This Is Us Season 4 Episode 6 seems to be too ambiguous. Fortunately, the synopsis of the episode offers some hints of possible storylines for "The Club" episode.
What does "The Club" exactly mean is unclear at the moment as NBC has yet to release a teaser video for the episode. It could be the exclusive "club" of the Big Three or the core Pearson family.
This Is Us fans could remember in the previous season how Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) talked about "The Pearson No-Fly Zone." The two are agreed on how careful they are about saying a critical word about any member of the Pearson family.
In the past seasons, viewers have seen how tight the bond between Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and the Big Three: Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Kate (Chrissy Metz), Randall (Sterling K. Brown) is. Even though Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) is dead, the people around the Pearson could still see his presence in his children.
The title might be about the group of councilmen that Randall has been trying to win over. In the official synopsis for Episode 6, it suggests that the politician in the Pearson family has a hard time finding his place with the other members of the city council. It could be because of Randall's idealistic principles as a novice councilman.
In This Is Us Season 4 Episode 3, Randall's secretary told him to act like a true councilman and not a therapist to everyone who approaches him. The secretary also advises him to fire his chief-of-staff, Jae-Won (Tim Jo). He kept Jae-Won and fired his secretary instead.
"The Club" could also be the group that Jack will be joining into because of his father-in-law, Dave Malone (Tim Matheson). In the upcoming episode, Jack will attempt to prove Rebecca's father that he is the man worthy of marrying his daughter. In Season 4 premiere episode, Mr. Malone told Jack in few indirect words that he doesn't like Papa Pearson for his daughter.
"The Club" could have something to do with Toby and Kate. As new parents of a special child, it looks like the couple will finally find time to spend time on their own. Kate and Toby would probably find a group of parents that are in the same situation as them.
Based on future scenes of Kate and Toby's son, Jack Damon (Blake Stadnik), the couple certainly did a great job in raising him. He became a well-mannered man and a successful musician.
This Is Us Season 4 airs every Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC. Episode 6, titled "The Club," will be out on October 29.
