Starz TV series Outlander is gaining more and more fans over the years. With this kind of popularity, many are wondering why the series has yet to have its own aftershow like its network mate, Power

Both the Outlander book series and the TV adaptation have huge fanbases. With fandom like this, it is possible that Starz could have thought about making an aftershow for the TV series. A show like Outlander would likely bring a lot more viewers to its network.

Fan-favorite TV shows such as The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and Bachelor In Paradise have hit aftershows. But why Outlander doesn't have one?

CarterMatt noted that Starz is not new in making aftershow. It has Power Confidential for Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's Power. Hence, the network may have also thought about giving Outlander the same after-episode live show. However, Starz could have found it a bit challenging as compared to Power.

It is worthy to note that aftershows like the Talking Dead for AMC TV series' The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead is a live show. It features the cast and crew members from the series, or guest celebrity fans. To be able to do the same for Outlander, it is a huge task to take.

The Courtney A. Kemp-series Power films in New York while the cast and crew of Outlander film on different continents. Though Outlander airs new installment after they wrapped up filming the entire season, it may still be hard for the network to arrange an aftershow schedule for the cast.

The Outlander lead cast alone, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, typically stay in Europe if they are filming the series or other projects. The two usually film these other projects while on break in shooting for Outlander. This is around the same time the series is airing a new season.

For instance, in between the filming of Season 3 and 4, Heughan shot the movie The Spy Who Dumped Me. During the break after Season 4 filming, the actor did Bloodshot and SAS: Red Notice. Hueghan is currently filming Outlander Season 5 along with other cast members. As for Balfe, she filmed Ford v. Ferrari opposite Matt Damon and Christian Bale before Season 5 shooting began.

Still, an Outlander aftershow is possible if it will have the Outlander author, TV creator, writers, producers, and even fans as guests. In the past season, Outlander has been offering an extra clip for viewers right after the ending of each episode. It is called "Outlander Inside The World."

Typically, the Outlander Inside The World features the series showrunners, EPs, and writers discussing the episode that just aired. It gives an overall perspective on how the episode is about.

Sometimes the panel talks about how the episode was shot, the importance of a specific character in the episode, or a story behind a prop. They also talk about the meaning of a scene or the connection of a particular moment to the past or future.

Starz can make this segment a full-length aftershow. While waiting for this to happen, viewers can have a marathon of Seasons 1 to 4 in preparing for the upcoming Outlander Season 5. The fifth installment of the critically-acclaimed series is set to premiere in February 2020.
