Nearly six months have already passed since On My Block Season 3 was confirmed by Netflix. While details and updates made the headlines during the first three months, nothing much has been heard after.

On April 29, a month after Season 2 arrived on the streaming giant, it was revealed that the series would be returning for a new season. No significant details were given at that time except for the renewal status. Even so, fans saw it fitting, considering that the show has just ended its second season course.

However, things became quite complicated when many headlines started to claim that there were "conflicts" and "disputes" among the cast members toward their contracts. According to What's On Netflix, the show was "put on hold" while everyone was negotiating the salary raises, along with other details on their contracts.

It was revealed that the four main cast members of On My Block received $20,000 per episode during the first two seasons. But, now that the show is moving forward with its third installment, the main stars asked for raises, just like what the cast of Stranger Things and 13 Reasons Why did before moving to Season 3.

Reports were claiming that the whole negotiation had disputes and conflicts. This is because Netflix allegedly made "counter-offers," which were less than what the cast was initially asking.

The negotiations took time. As per reports, it delayed the production of the new season, and it caused the number of episodes to shorten. Instead of having the usual ten episodes, On My Block Season 3 will house a total of eight episodes.

The detailed amounts of the raises were not revealed to the public. Deadline, however, reported that more than twice, or even thrice, of the original salary amount was added.

After closing the new deal, the show immediately started the production. This was reported in the last week of July to the first week of August. Although it was already confirmed that production began on the said timeframe, no further details were heard from the show.

It is only logical why fans feel worried about the show's future. But, it is still worth noting that On My Block Season 3 is already a done deal.

The negotiations would not be closed, and the production would not start if the show will no longer happen due to the reported disputes over the cast contracts. So, while there is an apparent lack of information and details about the new season, it seems that the fans will just need to be a little more patient and wait for further updates in the next few months or weeks.
