Kanye West would like to show his complete devotion to cast away his sins when, at one point, he almost quit rap music. The rapper's pastor revealed that Kim Kardashian's husband confessed to him that he once thought of quitting rap because for him it's "the devil's music."

In a new interview with Christian media organization Apologia, West's pastor, Adam Tyson, reveals that the rapper considered quitting making rap music after being "saved" by Christianity. Apparently, West is ready to drop it all, but Tyson convinced him against it. Tyson said he talked to West to use his talent to worship God instead of turning his back on music.

"One time, he told me that he wasn't going to rap. I said, 'Why not?'" Tyson said to which Kanye replied, "That's the devil's music."

In the interview, Tyson also talked about how West's spiritual journey started. He said the "Famous" hitmaker started visiting their Santa Clarita's Placerita Bible Church in mid-May. A few weeks later, he started to talk to the pastor about his transformation.

According to Tyson, West told him that he was raised with Christian values. He, however, changed when he started to chase material things.

It was earlier reported that the Chicago rapper has been on a spiritual journey and has been attending Sunday Service sessions. The pastor added that he has been leading a weekly bible study with West.

In a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian, it was revealed how Kanye's spiritual journey is affecting his wife, Kim Kardashian. It was shown in the episode that, during the 2019 Met Gala, Kanye told Kim that he doesn't want her to wear sexy outfits.

Meanwhile, Tyson also revealed that he and West collaborated on how to make the lyrics on the rapper's upcoming album, Jesus Is King, more clearly about the gospel of God. West is set to drop his new album Jesus Is King as well as his IMAX film of the same title on October 25. The release of West's new album has been delayed for a month. It was originally set to drop on September 27.

The album, reportedly, contains some religious-themed songs. In August, Kim Kardashian tweeted a photo of what seems to be a tracklist of religious-themed album. The list includes songs that are titled "God Is," "Baptized," "Sunday," and "Sweet Jesus."
