It's a battle in all fronts in the upcoming Legacies Season 2 Episode 3. The students of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted will be facing the Mystic Falls High in a sporting event while the headmasters of the latter will also butt each other's heads. Additionally, a battle against a new monster is brewing in this episode.
A conflict is teased to erupt between Alaric (Matt Davis) and Professor Vardemus (Alexis Denisof) in Episode 3. It is unclear what exactly causes the disagreement but it could have something to do with school policies and how the students learn to use their powers.
Josie (Kaylee Bryant) and Lizzie's (Jenny Boyd) father, Alaric, is the former headmaster of the Salvatore School while Professor Vardemus was introduced in the previous episode as the new headmaster. In Episode 2, Vardemus taught Josie how to do a spell without getting caught after he saw the young witch inflicting bloody nose magic to one of Landon's (Aria Shahghasemi) admirers.
Instead of punishing her, Vardemus invited Josie to join the special offensive magic curriculum for "advanced students." This could cause a conflict between Alaric and the new headmaster.
Denisof earlier teased that Vardemus respects Alaric for what he had done to the school. However, there will be a conflict of opinion and belief between the two about how the students should behave and learn to use their powers.
Meanwhile, Landon and Josie's relationship will be put to the test because of one of the students from the rival school, Hope. Apparently, Hope will catch the eyes of Landon that could spark conflict between him and Josie or Hope and Josie.
Either way, it seems like they will eventually team up when Hope reveals to them that there is a new monster lurking around Mystic Falls. In the sneak peek for Legacies Season 2 Episode 3, Hope is seen telling someone that there is a monster in the woods that feeds on werewolves. Then, she and Landon are seen running into the woods.
Elsewhere, Sebastian (Thomas Doherty) continues to attack the interest of Lizzie. Josie's twin sister and MG (Quincy Fouse) will embark on a mission to find more about the new vampire in town. Naturally, MG will offer a helping hand knowing that whatever they will find about Sebastian may or may not help him on his case to Lizzie.
Legacies Season 2 airs Thursdays on The CW. Episode 3, titled "You Remind Me of Someone I Used to Know," will air on October 24.
