It has become a common notion these days that Queen Elizabeth did not like Princess Diana before, during, and after her marriage with Prince Charles. Many are convinced that this is true. However, recent reports are stating otherwise.
According to royal followers and experts, Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana shared a close relationship, especially during her marriage to the Prince of Wales. Regardless of their thoughts about each other, reports stated that the princess always ran to the queen's chambers to "weep" over her marriage.
As it happened, many believed that there was no "love" between her and Prince Charles, to which Queen Elizabeth also agreed, according to claims. This is why she "understood" her daughter-in-law every time she "barged" into her chambers.
This angle of the situation caused many royal followers to concluded that Queen Elizabeth II did not treat Princess Diana "poorly." Anything that was reported other than this is just "tabloid gossip," sources added.
Unfortunately, the case is not the same for Prince Charles. A lot of people are convinced that he was the one who treated Princess Diana poorly.
Ever since their engagement, analysts and experts were already claiming that the future king was not happy with the arrangement. Even when the two kids, Prince William and Prince Harry, arrived in their lives, things did not change for the Prince of Wales. In fact, things were reportedly worse between the royal couple after tying the knot and the kids.
Although many believed that this is what happened, no confirmation has been made. It is only logical, though, given that Prince Charles is the face of the future monarchy.
Cheat Sheet also claimed the same angle. As per the publication, Queen Elizabeth II was aware of everything. This is why she allowed Princess Diana to "humiliate" Prince Charles, one last time, after their publicized split in 1992.
In a biography of the Prince of Wales titled, The Untold Story, which was featured in the same publication, author Ross Benson shared that the Princess of Wales "went against" his former partner's dispositions. She attended a State banquet that was intended to honor the 17th President of Portugal, Mario Soares, inside Buckingham Palace in 1993.
After their split, the princess was "banned" from attending any royal event or gathering including, most especially, the said State banquet. So, it became a surprise to Prince Charles when his former wife arrived in the event with the blessing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
As per reports, the queen was the only one who had the power to allow guests that were not invited. Because of this, it only went to show that she "sided" with the princess after what happened between her son and Princess Diana.
