AOA member Seolhyun has given their fans a glimpse of their upcoming comeback album. The K-pop singer shared on Instagram two photos of what seems to be the concept of their upcoming album, In The Moonlight.
AOA fans have been waiting for over a year for a new album from the female K-pop group. The now five-member group released their most recent mini-album, Bingle Bangle, in May 2018. Since then, member Mina left the group in May.
In her recent post on IG, Seolhyun shared two images which she captioned with a hashtag "#AOA_In_the_Moonlight." By the looks of it, it seems like Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi will be taking a periodic theme in their next album. The quintet could also feature a sci-fi Westworld-like theme based on the outfit and musket of the member in the photos.
The group's label FNC Entertainment has yet to confirm a comeback date for AOA. However, Soompi cited a source from the agency that confirmed AOA is making a comeback next month. The insider revealed that the girls have also done filming the music video for their comeback and confirmed that the photos that Seolhyun shared on social media are from the MV.
The group is, currently, competing against five other K-pop girl acts in Mnet's Queendom. The show is a comeback battle between trending girl group acts. The objective is to determine "the real number one" female group when all six release their songs at the same time.
Aside from AOA, the other acts in the show are 2NE1's Park Bom, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE. In the recent episode of Queendom, AOA was praised for their performance of AOA Cream's "I'm Jelly BABY" and their cover of MAMAMOO's "Egotistic." The competition will run until October 31, just in time for AOA expected comeback.
Meanwhile, AOA member Seolhyun also, currently, appears on JTBC's historical drama My Country alongside Korean actors Yang Se Jong, Woo Do Hwan, and Jang Hyuk. The series premiered in both JTBC and Netflix on October 4.
My Country marks Seolhyun's comeback in K-drama in four years. She last appeared in KBS 2TV's Orange Marmalade in 2015. The singer-actress admitted that there is pressure on her comeback on the small screen. Fortunately, Seolhyun said she is used to this kind of pressure and she has supportive cast and crew to work with.
Catch Seolhyun in My Country every Fridays and Saturdays at 10:50 p.m. KST and the AOA's performance in Queendom on Mnet every Thursday at 9:20 p.m. KST. Stay tuned here at Business Times for updates about AOA comeback in November.
